FEES AND REQUIRED TESTING

Know the Investment Before You Begin.

You deserve to know what care costs before you book a call.  What you'll pay, what your insurance covers, and why the testing we require is built into the price rather than tacked on later.

This isn't inexpensive. We'd rather you see the real numbers and make a clear decision than be caught off guard later.

Two ways to begin. One standard of care.

Every care path is informed by the same systems-based model.

The difference is where you would like to start and how broadly you are prepared to evaluate the picture.

01 / PHYSICIAN  CONSULTATION

Barbara Johnson, MD

$500

PER HOUR

Time with Dr. Johnson is the scarcest resource in the practice. You are not paying for a slot on a schedule. You are paying for thirty years of medicine—surgical training, Chief of Surgical Trauma at Emory University, and a decade spent building the Cellular Intelligence Protocol™—pointed directly at reading your biology and building the sequence it needs.

Dr. Johnson works exclusively with patients who commit to the full evaluation and the Cellular Intelligence Protocol™. She does not take one-off visits or single interventions. If you are looking to test one marker or try one thing, she is not the right physician for it—and one of our nurse practitioners likely is.

02 / NURSE PRACTITIONER CONSULTATION

Nurse Practitioner

$400

PER HOUR

Our nurse practitioners are trained directly in the Cellular Intelligence Protocol™ and deliver the same systems-based care Dr. Johnson designed—the same testing, the same map, the same standard. They are also more flexible about where you start.

If you are not ready to commit to the full protocol immediately, an NP can meet you where you are: begin with the concern that brought you in, and build toward the complete picture as you go. The more of the system we leave unread, the more we are working from assumption instead of data—and your NP will be straight with you about that trade-off.

REQUIRED FUNCTIONAL TESTING

The Map Before The Protocol.

These three functional tests are required for a Cellular Intelligence Protocol™ evaluation. They are specialty labs—not the basic blood work your primary care doctor runs—and they are not billed to insurance, which is why they are priced separately here.

These are required because the Cell Danger Response cannot be read from a standard blood panel, and treating what we cannot measure is exactly the guess-and-check that already did not work for you.

$1,600

Each Test Sees a Different Part of The System.

Read together, they reveal the underlying signal. Miss one and we are guessing about the other two.

01

THE ALARM

Adrenal Panel

Salivary cortisol + DHEA rhythm

Is the alarm still on?

WHAT IT MEASURES

Your cortisol across the full day, plus DHEA—sampled from saliva at multiple points, not from a single blood draw.

WHY IT MATTERS

A blood cortisol level is one snapshot. What matters is the rhythm: whether cortisol rises and falls as it should, or whether your alarm is stuck on. This panel is how we find out if the Cell Danger Response is still firing.

A running alarm has consequences you can feel. Cortisol drives abdominal fat storage and blocks metabolic flexibility. It fragments sleep, degrades cognition, and suppresses sex-hormone function at the same time.

02

THE SIGNAL

WHAT IT MEASURES

GI-MAP

Stool PCR Test

What is Feeding the Alarm?

The bacteria, pathogens, parasites, and yeast living in your gut—plus immune and inflammatory markers, including secretory IgA, calprotectin, and barrier-integrity signals.

WHY IT MATTERS

The gut is the single largest source of danger signals to the cell. Dysbiosis, hidden pathogens, and a compromised gut barrier can keep the immune system in defense mode, one of the most common reasons the Cell Danger Response never stands down.

GI symptoms are rarely only a local gut problem. The same signaling may show up as brain fog, disrupted hormones, skin changes, and mood.

03

THE ENGINE

Organic Metabolomics

Urine/Plasma

Can your cells still make energy?

WHAT IT MEASURES

Organic acids and amino acids across six areas: mitochondrial energy production, nutrient and B-vitamin status, oxidative stress and detoxification capacity, stress-and-mood metabolites, amino acid and protein metabolism, and byproducts from gut microbes.

WHY IT MATTERS

This is the direct read on cellular energy. Standard labs read the scoreboard—glucose, cholesterol, and downstream numbers. OMX reads whether the engine is actually running: whether mitochondria are producing ATP, how much oxidative stress they are under, whether antioxidant supply is keeping up, and which cofactors are missing.

Two common drivers—the antioxidant supply falling behind demand and mitochondrial strain—live on this panel and nowhere else.

WHY THE FULL PICTURE MATTERS

"I only came in for weight or hormones. Do I really need all three?"

Weight resistance and hormonal chaos are not the problem.

They are the two most common places the problem shows up.

Cortisol drives abdominal fat storage and blocks the metabolic flexibility you need to burn it—you cannot diet your way past a stress response that will not stand down. And hormone receptors are cellular structures. When your cells are in defense, hormones can look perfectly normal on paper and still fail to work at the receptor.

So there are two options. We can treat weight or hormones in isolation and hope—the approach that already did not hold for you. Or we can read the three systems underneath them and know. The testing is the entire difference between those two.

Your nurse practitioner confirms your testing after your first visit and can start you where you are comfortable. You can start narrower if you need to; just understand the trade you are choosing.

INSURANCE & ADDITIONAL COSTS

Standard blood work is usually covered.

Alongside the three functional panels, we order comprehensive blood work through LabCorp or Quest. This is billed to your insurance like any other lab work, so most patients pay little or nothing out of pocket. Coverage depends on your specific plan.

This blood work is the fourth panel in the CIP map. It is necessary—but it measures what conventional medicine already looks at although we look deeper and more comprehensive. Blood work cannot replace the three functional tests above.

Consultation fees and functional testing are cash-pay and are not billed to insurance, apart from LabCorp or Quest blood work described above.

Depending on your specific medical concerns additional testing may be recommended such as Mycotoxin, DUTCH and genomic testing.
