Do You Really Know How Healthy You Are?

Ever wondered how healthy you really are? And we're not talking about BMI, blood pressure, physical fitness, or even fasting glucose level. We're talking about biochemical health.

The Johnson Center is excited to announce that we're now offering Prodrome Scan. The only way to truly know how healthy you are.

What is a ProdromeScan?

The Prodrome scan is a revolutionary test for health optimization developed by Dr. Goodenowe. This test looks at your body’s core biological systems and measures hundreds of key biomarkers that need to be optimized. This test provides an in-depth analysis to fully understand your biochemical health.

Why is it Important:

The biomarkers measured by the ProdromeScan will provide you with an overview of your current health status. Further, the biomarker's used in the ProdromeScan are scientifically linked to an increased risk of:

  • Alzheimer's disease

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Colorectal cancer

  • Pancreatic cancer

  • Breast cancer

  • Ovarian cancer

  • Heart disease

  • Stroke

  • Diabetes

This means that your results from a Prodrome Scan could offer potentially life-altering results. By knowing if you have an increased risk of one of the aforementioned conditions now, you have the opportunity to reverse it.

"Disease is not random and unpredictable but opportunistic and occurs in the absence of health" - Dr. Goodenowe

How can you benefit?

The ProdromeScan allows you to take charge of your health by knowing your health status in advance of disease. This allows you to correct and prevent progression by taking the necessary steps. It is much harder to reverse disease than it is to prevent a disease from occurring. The Prodrome Scan will rank your overall health status into one of three concise stages:

  • Stage 1: Healthy. Low susceptibility to disease.

  • Stage 2: Increased Risk. At this stage, you may not show any outward signs of cognitive or physical disease, but you have acquired biochemical dysfunction that will create a disease

  • Stage 3: Active disease. Manifestation of uncorrected biochemical dysfunction.

How much does a Prodrome Scan cost?

The Johnson Center is excited to offer a Prodrome Scan for a reduced rate of $499. This is a blood test and one of the best investments you can make for your health and longevity. Your results provided by a ProdromeScan will allow us to create a plan to optimize your unique biosystems through:

  • diet adjustments

  • lifestyle changes

  • supplements

  • hormones

  • peptides

After your Prodrome Scan, we will work together to get you on the path to optimal health.

Still not convinced?

ProdromeScan measures your body’s core systems and gives a picture of your biochemical health and what is out of balance. While all of the markers measured are essential for maintaining health, plasmalogens are at the core of this test.

Numerous studies have been done looking at the link between high plasmalogens and lower levels of dementia. Below is a study performed in 2007 which showed that significantly lower plasmalogen levels were associated with dementia Alzheimer’s type (DAT). (PlsEtn is an abbreviation for plasmalogens).

Another study looked at the probability of dementia in 3.7 years based on plasmalogen levels. Those with the highest level of plasmalogens (the green line) showed very low probability of becoming demented and only showed an increase around the age of 95. Those with low plasmalogens started showing signs of dementia much earlier around the age of 75.

You can find more information about plasmalogens on Dr. Dayan Goodenowe’s website. In brief, Plasmalogens are integral for cellular membranes to maintain structure and health and are obligate for human life. While plasmalogens are not the only phospholipids in cellular membranes they are the most abundant in the brain, heart, lungs, and retina.

Unfortunately, none come from our diet and our body must manufacture them which takes energy. On average, plasminogen levels peak in our 40’s and then start to decline.

The good news is that a personalized and targeted plan can be developed to reduce your risk of chronic disease. Dr. Goodenowe has manufactured a supplement called Prodrome which provides the necessary plasmalogens needed for health.
